Whether you are planning on purchasing your own mega-boat or something a bit more modest like a motor boat or jet ski, you will inevitably need professional help to store and maintain your new toy. Luckily, the Moscow area has several private clubs offering these services. Burevestnik and Gals are two yacht clubs where even the pickiest and most clandestine of yacht owners will feel right at home. Recommendations of several current members are needed to join, and all monthly fees must be paid in advance. After all the preliminary arrangements are completed, you can enjoy the luxury of your own personal spot on the club’s pier (where the water is heated year-round to keep your baby warm), the right to reserve a storage space, and a repair service. The clubs also throw weekend parties, which members’ friends can attend free of charge — with prior notification, that is.
The Avrora Yacht Club is another favorite of discriminating boaters. Besides water parking, navigation and repair services, the club offers a restaurant, barbecue facilities, and a fitness center, and management can book accommodations at neighboring yacht clubs or the Vinogradovo Holiday Inn. Those who have not yet decided on their perfect sea dream can head to the Admiral or Vodnik clubs, where yachts, motor boats and jet skis can be rented and tested under professional supervision. Both of these clubs welcome visitors who want to throw a summer corporate event or just spend a weekend on the water. Besides water sports, the clubs also offer luxurious beachfront accommodations starting from 1,500 rubles a night, as well as a variety of recreational activities such as paintball and horseback riding. All arrangements must be made at least one day before arrival. Algol, one of Moscow’s most picturesque and relaxing yacht clubs, is also the furthest from the city center. Located near the town of Dubna, Algol provides boat rentals as well as storage, parking and service facilities for boat owners. For landlubbers, there are diversions including horseback riding, paintball, billiards, and a fitness center complete with an indoor swimming pool.
