317 City Cafe (M. Krasnopresnenskaya):
Across the road from the White House, this slick-looking cafe attracts elite clientele -- but it's cheap. Ksenia Sobchak has been spotted here.

Alexandria Coffeeshop (M. Tsvetnoi Bulvar):
Close to the circus, so expect kids. Good selection of liqueurs and interesting choices in the tea department.

Aristokrat (M. Chistiye Prudy):
Winner of the Best Coffee Shop prize at menu.ru's Best Restaurants 2003 awards. Pretentious, as perhaps aristocrats are supposed to be. Pleasant outdoor area.

Arka (M. Okhotny Ryad):

Art Bazar (M. Pushkinskaya):
More than a cafe, Art Bazar is a showroom for exotic and designer furniture from Morocco. The cafe is styled as a Moroccan coffee shop, but the cuisine is an eclectic combination of Middle Eastern, Russian and European favorites. Appropriately, hookahs with flavored tobacco are on hand too.

Art Cafe Anekdot (M. Park Kultury):
Bright, cheery interior should put a smile on your face, but alas, there are no longer comedy shows here.

Art Cafe Sad (M. Tretyakovskaya):
A gallery with sophisticated cuisine and live evening entertainment.

Barista (M. Arbatskaya):
Coffees and sweets galore.

Beirut (M. Yugo-Zapadnaya / Belyaevo):

Bookafe (M. Tsvetnoi Bulvar):
Trendy designersky cafe with luscious coffee table books to peruse while pretentiously sipping a glass of wine.

Cafe Atelye (M. Mayakovskaya):
A cozy cafe located in a stylish neighborhood around Patriarch's Ponds.

Cafe Don Pedro (M. Mayakovskaya / Pushkinskaya):

Cafe Max (M. Novokuznetskaya):
Huge Internet place. Alcohol, cheap beer, smoking and computer games. What more could you want?

Cafe Ryumochnaya (M. Okhotny Ryad):

Chainy Klub Na Vekovoi (M. Ploshchad Ilyicha):
A laid-back teahouse offering a whole plethora of oriental teas, Chainy Klub Na Vekovoi serves as a great introduction to Chinese culture. Boasts a stylish decor with low, wooden tables and thick cushions, but there's little on offer as far as food is concerned.
